The team racks up tons of mileage as they depart Morganfield, KY. With stops in Elizabethtown, Louisville, and Maysville, team crosses another state line into Ohio. The first half of the stops in the buckeye state include Cincinnati, Xenia, and Columbus.

Special Edition: Freedom Night with the Cleveland Indians

On July 27th, the 5 Weeks for Freedom campaign stopped in Cleveland to participate in Freedom Night with the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. The tour riders were featured throughout the game, from the opening pitch and cycling the bases during pregame festivities, to public service announcements on the jumbotron and information booths throughout the ballpark.

The team pushes on from Nashville, TN and crosses over their third state line into Kentucky, stopping off at Grand Rivers and Morganfield. The riding is hot and hilly but as you can tell, the spirits of the riders are still soaring.

The campaign is excited to stop in Cleveland, OH today and tomorrow. Tonight, in particular, the riders will be celebrating Freedom Night with the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field, sharing with fellow baseball lovers about the issues and what they can do. To help us spread the word is The Tribe Daily, the website of Nino Colla that chronicles “an unhealthy obsession of constant updates on the Tribe, and other ridiculous Indians-related antics.” Hope all you Tribe fanatics will come out and show your support for the Indians, the Indians organization, and the 5 Weeks for Freedom campaign.

The team pushes on from Iuka, MS to Nashville, TN. Along the way, they encounter some “sweet riding” on the Natchez Trace, have a couple of special guest riders join them into Nashville, and get some help from a few wonderful friends of the campaign who use their musical talents to spread the word about the movement.

Laying down thinking about how much god has given me in life and specifically throughout this tour, I am convicted like I have NEVER been convicted before. My conviction is simple, it’s to “Do Something”. Even though I am on this 5 week trip for the freedom of others, God does not demand 5 weeks of crazy intense biking from me, he just wants me to walk through the doors that he so graciously opens. Sometimes, in my own stubbornness, when I think about what God calls me to and how “simple” it may seem, in foresight I mentally dwarf the possibility of God doing greats things in and though me. “Where is the adventure in walking through a door that’s already been opened for me?” I sometimes ask myself. That’s called taking an all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving God and putting Him into a box of my own expectations. That’s wrong. I think God is teaching me to expect an adventure in His calling, and to surely expect for me NOT to be able to do any of it on my own strength, I will ALWAYS need Him.

I’ve also been convicted of being a lazy American. Seriously, we have it SO good. time and time again I am reminded of how blessed we are to live in such a blessed country. I want to start living by this motto, “If I have it, it better be used to bless others while glorifying God.”

Do something, whether it seems to be easy or impossible, just do it. One man with God is the majority.
