I’m riding for girls like Salila,* who was trapped in forced prostitution in a major South Asian city. The head of India’s Central bureau of Investigation estimated last year that there are as many as 1.2 million children in prostitution in that country alone. Salila is free because she was found by IJM investigators, who worked with local police to rescue her from the brothel. She lives in her own apartment now and has a job doing beadwork on bracelets. She is happy and secure. But there are millions more who need to be found and brought to safety, so I’m giving Five Weeks for Freedom.
