I’m riding for people like Gowshik* and Geetha.* This husband and wife were trapped as slaves in a rice mil until IJM and the local police worked together to rescue them. And now, not only are they free, but they are contributing to the economy of their village. They run a farm and sell their crops – and their operation is so successful that they’ve hired several other people to work for them, at fair wages. There are millions more slaves who could be powering the kind of transformation Geetha and Gowshik are, so that’s why I’m giving Five Weeks for Freedom.
